How non-denominational churches are attracting millennials

This article caught my attention because I hoped to find that the writer was discussing how non-denominational churches reach out and appeal in different ways to Millennials more than mainline and other denominational churches.  Unfortunately, that is not what the article discusses.  The article does discuss some local churches, and what they are doing to reach Millennials.

Regardless, I have marked out a few bullet points below, and here is a link to the full article.

Here are a few quotes:

  • “I was not happy with my life. I didn’t really understand who I was,” said Lee, who is now one of the worship leaders at Fusion.
  • But things change. Marriage, children and life events — even divorce at a young age — cause people to think spiritually, Wilson said.
  • The number of worshipers at churches in the evangelical Protestant tradition, which includes many non-denominational congregations like Fusion Church, have at least remained unchanged or may have risen by as many as 5 million, according to Pew research.

When churches understand emerging adults, and are prepared to meet their needs – then you will find the church once again become essential to their lives.
